Melody Parker, PhD

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Parker is a counseling psychologist who specializes in helping individuals and families navigate life’s most challenging experiences with compassion, evidence-based care, and a strong therapeutic relationship. She works with children, adolescents, and adults, with particular expertise in perinatal mental health, trauma recovery, parenting concerns, and early childhood development.

Her clinical interests include anxiety and depression, particularly during pregnancy and the postpartum period. She helps clients develop practical tools and meaningful strategies that support healing, resilience, and a more fulfilling life, even in the presence of ongoing challenges.

Dr. Parker also specializes in the treatment of trauma, including birth trauma and sexual abuse. She believes that lasting change occurs through a trusting therapeutic relationship and utilizes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) to help clients process traumatic experiences and move beyond patterns that may be keeping them stuck.

In addition, she supports parents who are struggling with the impact of their own life experiences, mental health concerns, or trauma histories on their parenting. Her work focuses on helping caregivers strengthen their relationships with their children while building confidence and emotional well-being.

Dr. Parker has advanced training in working with infants, young children, and their caregivers. She provides Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), an evidence-based, relationship-focused treatment that helps children from birth through age six and their caregivers heal together following traumatic or stressful experiences.

She is also passionate about supporting individuals recovering from religious or spiritual trauma. Through therapy, she helps clients explore and challenge deeply ingrained beliefs, process painful experiences, and develop values and belief systems that align with their authentic selves.

In addition to therapy services, Dr. Parker provides psychological assessment for individuals ages 3 and older. Assessments can help identify strengths, clarify challenges, and guide personalized recommendations for success at home, school, work, and in daily life.
